Blink-182 Announce 20th Anniversary Tour Dates For 2012
Can you believe it? Blink-182 turns 20 years old this year. Yet even after all this time, the band can still put together one heck of a catchy pop-punk album and show, mixing adolescent joviality with adulthood’s weight. To celebrate their two-decade-long career, Blink 182 will traverse the globe on a 20th anniversary tour, as Punknews reports. So far, six North American dates, including a spot at NJ’s The Bamboozle, have been scheduled for May, with a score of European dates keeping them occupied for the rest of summer. More Blink 182 tour dates on this side of the pond are expected, so stay tuned. Their current tour schedule is below.

Blink-182 Announce May 2012 Tour Dates Surrounding Bamboozle
Multiplatinum-selling, chart-topping rockers blink-182 announced several tour dates in May surrounding the group's co-headlining of The Bamboozle Festival 2012 with Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters.

In addition to Blink-182's Bamboozle performance on Saturday, May 19 at the North Beach boardwalk in Asbury Park, NJ, the band has scheduled major arena shows in upstate New York as well as New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Quebec City.

The band is supporting Neighborhoods, its first album in eight years.

Multiplatinum-selling, #1-charting rockers Blink-182 announced today several 2012 tour dates in May surrounding the group’s co-headlining of The Bamboozle Festival 2012 (with Bon Jovi and Foo Fighters). In addition to Blink-182′s Bamboozle performance on Saturday, May 19 at the North Beach boardwalk in Asbury Park, NJ, the band has scheduled major arena shows in upstate New York as well as New Hampshire, Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Quebec City (see dates below).

The most recent video from 2011′s Neighborhoods (DGC/Interscope Records), Blink-182 first new album in eight years, which debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, is for the hit single “After Midnight”. Says singer-bassist Mark Hoppus of the video: “We wanted something that was a little troubled because the song is a troubled love song. Isaac (Rentz, the director) came up with this idea of a guy and a girl trapped inside of an insane asylum. They find one another, they escape themselves for the evening and they have a night of reckless romance before they get put back into their cells.”

Hoppus, guitarist Tom DeLonge and drummer Travis Barker reunited in 2009 after a tumultuous four-year hiatus. Neighborhoods marks the 6th studio effort by Blink-182, following three consecutive platinum-plus albums.

Blink 182 Biography

The new school punk trio Blink-182 was formed in the suburbs of San Diego, California around guitarist and vocalist Tom DeLonge, bassist/vocalist Mark Hoppus, and drummer Scott Raynor. Originally known as simply Blink, the band debuted in 1993 with a self-released EP, Fly Swatter. After releasing the album Buddha in 1994, the trio signed to Grilled Cheese/Cargo and released Cheshire Cat the following year. The threat of a lawsuit from a similarly named Irish band forced them to change their name to blink-182, but the group earned a higher profile touring the world with Pennywise and NOFX on the 1996-1997 Warped Tour, plus appearing on innumerable skate/surf/snowboarding videos. .. full Blink 182 biography
